Are you new to yoga/movement? Maybe you practice but want to explore ways of improving your range of motion and body knowledge? Want the time in class to test options and explore your structure? Flexibility of the MIND (not body) & sense of humor required. This is not a flow class, it’s a combination of movement, discussion, demo and community to celebrate each others uniqueness. We will gently explore standing & seated yoga postures to truly connect with our bodies current patterns and potential to move. Everyone welcome - the hesitant, the experienced, the curious and those not sure where to start!
Our goal is to not only move better but create new pathways between the brain, movement and breath - providing us with body knowledge and opportunities that are unique to us. This knowledge empowers us to make proper choices in any movement activity we may do to lower the risk of injury. This mindset can free us from judging ourselves and feeling judged. Our body will unfold when we listen, observe and acknowledge.
Simply beginning your journey to a healthy perspective on movement & range of motion for your body will improve your quality of life, mind and body. We will focus on using our unique shape to improve FUNCTION not aesthetics.
Sue Leveille will guide you through movement work, discussion, Q & A, diverse ways of expressing poses & highlight comparative anatomy. Each class will have a focus.
