Knit Scarf with Sue - Beginner

Knitting with Sue : Beginner's Cowl

Oct 27th, Sunday 10am-12:30pm
Teacher: Sue Leveille

Fall is a time for tea, soup, curly up, getting cozy and warm knits! We are hoping for a small group of community members to learn, chat and make a cowl while sipping on warm morning beverages.

We will cover casting on, basic knit stitch, casting off through hands on instruction.  We will practice stitches before moving onto your garter stitch scarf project. As you move through the stitches, you will start to experience moments of the meditative nature of knitting.

In this workshop we will;

  • Cast on and cast off

  • Practice basic knit stitch

  • Use straight needles

  • Experience the meditative value in knitting

  • Access to open studio time, tbd

  • A choice of one color from current stock

  • Focus on garter stitch - knit stitch will be taught (purl will be in another class)

Supplies included/what you will take home;

  • Straight needles

  • Acrylic blend yarn (chunky) * Please contact me if alternative is needed*

  • A cowl scarf with button MADE BY YOU!

  • A new skill to warm up yourself, friends or family with knitted accessories

All ages welcome - Age 13 and below requires adult supervision.
