About the event
As we emerge from the cool wintery months, we invite you to consider ways that collage can amend by improving or re-contextualizing source material and/or mend by ways of the creative process. It's an invitation to explore the transformative power of collage, a process that mirrors the very essence of this seasonal shift. From personal experience, Katana Lippart has found that collage is a cyclical process: physically sourcing and repurposing neglected materials and emotionally connecting to the work as it reveals itself through experimentation and play. In this open call, reflect on how you approach your collage practice by selecting flora or fauna-related components representative of Spring.
All submissions received by May 5, 2025, will be featured in an exhibition at Give Rise Studio (@giverisestudio) located at 125 S Carroll St #101, Frederick, MD, USA, from 12-5:00 pm on May 10, 2025. In addition to the exhibition, free collage workshops…
